Off topic but general statement of mainstream technology. At home I have a 56k modem which because of a number of factor tends to perform closer to 28.8k. I tried to listen to a concert rebroadcast on KFOG through RealPlayer. What a totally futile effort that was. I know that broadband is coming one day. Right now there is no talk in my immediate area of either DSL or cable modems. I'd lean toward DSL, me an my cable company haven't talked in years. I've got a dish, but it losses communications during storms. I can handle drop out of television service but I think I'd want higher reliability for an internet service.
Anyway, my assumption is that unless you are at work, most people are still using phone modems. What is the penetration of broadband into our community here?
